Home Made Electrolytes
2 quarts warm Water
1/2 teaspoon Pickling Salt
1/4 teaspoon Salt
Dissolve well, cool and give to animals that have lost fluids. Helps restore lost body salts. Has been used in goats and calves to fight dehydration. If you have a kid scouring feed this instead of milk for a feeding or two.

Emergency Colostrum
3 cups warm Goat Milk
1 Egg, beaten
1 Tablespoon Honey or Karo Syrup
1 teaspoon Cod Liver Oil
Use only in an Emergency. Does NOT contain any antibodies.

Mastitis Test Solution
1 gallon Distilled Water
4 teaspoons Liquid dish Soap like Ivory
1 teaspoon lye (Red Devil)
1 box Navy Rit Dye
Mix completely. To use put 1 teaspoon milk from one teat and 1 teaspoon solution into a plastic quart lid and swirl around. Slimy or curdled means mastitis. Repeat for other teat.

Mastitis Treatment
5 cc Pfr-Pen G Penicillin
25 cc Sterile Water
This is comparable to name brand mastitis treatments. Using a syringe with a teat dilator insert into each infected teat changing dilators as to not cross contaminate.

Pink Eye Treatment
10 cc of 100 mg/ml Gentamycin
10 cc of 2 mg/ml Dexamethasone
10 cc of Distilled Water
Put into a small spray bottle. Clean the face with Listerine and spray mixture once a day. Flies feed on the drainage and will spread it to other animals and to the other eye, so clean the face well. One time will usually do it. Some times 2 or 3 times if the eye is completely white. It is the fastest cure. Gentamycin used in the eye is considered topical and is accepted for food animals.

Uterus Infection
20 cc Oxtetracycline
40 cc Warm Distilled or Sterile Water
Pour into a douche bag and insert the tip into the uterus. Empty entire contents of bag into the uterus. Repeat this every other day for three (3) treatments. You can use a hot water bottle with the douche tip.

Mites
1/4 cup copper sulfate
1 litre water
Mix copper sulfate with water. Put into a spray bottle. Spray affected areas several days in a row. Mites will disappear.

Hoof Rot
1 bag range mineral
200 g Super Idoized Salt

Mix bag of range minerals with Super Iodized Salt. Feed free choice to goats on pasture. This will help prevent hoof rot from starting.
