2015 MAMTE Symposium Details

Welcome all registrants to the 2015 MAMTE Symposium. We are excited that you are able to join us for these two days in Oxford, MS. If you have not mailed your dues/registration fees, please be sure to bring them with you to registration on Monday. Below are the details about the symposium.

Location:

We will be meeting in the meeting room at the Hampton Inn, Oxford Conference Center

103 Ed Perry Blvd, Oxford, MS 38655.

Time:

Registration will begin on Monday, May 18 at 9:15 AM.

Meeting will begin on Monday at 10:00 AM.

We will conclude on Tuesday, May 19 by 4:00 PM.

Meals:

Lunch, snacks and drinks will be provided on Monday & Tuesday.

Dinner on the Oxford Square will be provided on Monday night.

Hotel Accommodations:

Room requests have been submitted to the Hampton Inn, Oxford Conference Center. They also have a list of all roommate requests. When you check in, let them know that you are with the MAMTE Organization.

If you plan to stay any nights other than Monday night, those reservations have been made for you, but please remember that you will be responsible for that charge.

Symposium Focus:

We will focus our discussions at this year's meeting around current MAMTE Initiatives, specifically the Middle Level Endorsement Initiative. You have a copy of the documents listed below, please bring them with you. If you do not have copies of these documents, there will be copies available at the symposium.

(1) MET2 from CBMS

(2) Mississippi College- and Career-Readiness Standards for Mathematics.

Also, our Quality Field Experiences Task Force Leader has requested that all members bring or provide access to a copy of their "field experiences handbook or guide." The task force is working to compile current field experience requirements from all institutions. We recognize that this may not apply to all members, namely community college faculty, but any information available about these experiences will be appreciated.
