Headlines from last season 2017-2018

The club finished second in both the County League and the Worcester and District League last season. In both competitions the teams were very competitive in the first half of the season but faded towards the end to finish behind Halesowen in the County League and Redditch in the Worcester and District League.

Matthew Jordan, John Knee, Brian Turner, Leigh Canham, Ian Clarke, Lee Davis and Geoff Marchant all played for the Worcestershire Minor Counties team.

Three Malvern players supported the Bennett Cup with Lee Davis beating Brian Turner in an all Malvern final. After two draws Lee prevailed in the Armageddon game with a second to spare. He wins the trophy for the second time in three years and for the fourth time in total.

Lee continued his excellent form in the Worcestershire Closed Congress where he took the title on tie-break from Steve Mellor of Worcester after both scored 4/5. Lee is now champion of Worcestershire and Herefordshire. Michael Butcher, Ian Clarke and Brian Turner also took part with Brian Turner becoming the Worcester Veteran Champion.

The Club Championship was close and fiercely contested last year. Geoff Marchant and Lee Davis shared the title with 6/8, half a point ahead of Brian Turner.
