BRADLEY, LESLIE C. / AUTOMATICS / BRADMATICS

by 1919-50s?, Birmingham

Appears to have learnt the craft whilst working as chief designer for Avery Scales. By 1919 Bradley Automatics was a manufacturer and repairer at 129 Park Road, Hockley, Birmingham. He was of 51 Havelock Rd., Handsworth, at the time he secured a 1932 patent, held jointly with Perry Barr Metal Co. Ltd., for the "Challengerâ„¢. In that year Bradley is referred to as of both The Perry Barr Aluminium Co. and of Messrs. Chas. Twigg & Co. He was still at the same residence when advertising in 1933.

Bradley, by now an old man, was invited to offer his engineering expertise for war work. He thus became involved in making parts for jet engines. After that Bradmatics was based at works 10, Station Rd., Aston, Birmingham B6 and made cigarette vendors.
