Construction of the Mallard Lakes neighborhood began in 1986 and was completed in 1990. Mallard Lakes consists of 37 homes with ponds and vegetated areas that are private property owned in common by all HOA members. These common areas are zoned as vegetated corridors and allow wildlife to pass through them on their normal migration paths. Over the years, our neighborhood has maintained a strong reputation as a family oriented community with annual events promoting a sense of community among all residents.
Our neighborhood has had an active HOA since its inception. The HOA Board of Directors consists of 5 neighbors who are elected by the members and each serve a 2 year term. This is entirely voluntary. There are no paid positions. The primary goals of the HOA are:
Protect homeowner property values
Maintain a sense of community
HOA dues are collected annually and are currently $450 per lot per year. This money pays for the maintenance of all common areas.
There is also an additional Special Assessment of $400 per lot for 5 years (approved by member vote and started in 2022) for weir replacement. For more details, please refer to the Dues document listed below.
