About Mala Desai: The divinity of being - is dance...An Indian classical dancer who believes that dance nurtures the soul and leads you to experience ultimate freedom. Mala has performed at innumerable events in India and America. Most recently Mala was presented to a packed audience in "Om Namo" by Professor Kathryn Posin at The Gallatin School of NYU in NEW unique Odissi-Ballet-Modern dance technique fusion choreography to music from the 2011 Grammy-Nominated album "Soul Call" by Chandrika Krishnamurhty Tandon.

For 15 Fridays starting on January 14, 2011 from 7-8 PM travel to Jayadeva's Odisha of 11 AD and experience a traditional and classical dance form - Odissi - that is preserved today in its full glory and timeless beauty.

No prior experience is needed and dancers and poets of all genre are encouraged to attend.
