Family-friendly holiday accommodation with heated pool in peaceful South West French countryside
Escape to the peaceful Chalosse countryside of South West France for a well-deserved relaxing holiday in this beautiful Maison de Maître, Maison Pyron (built in 1871) and its adjoining grain store, Le Grenier. Recently renovated and well-equipped, they provide spacious and quality self-catering accommodation designed for extended family and friends' holidays. Situated between the two towns of Saint Sever and Hagetmau, the properties are within good driving distance of Pau, Biarrtiz, Lourdes and Bordeaux airports.
Set in 5 acres incorporating grounds and gardens with a variety of exotic trees, plants, weeping willows, woodland and a new orchard of peach, apricot, cherry, plum, apple and fig trees, Pyron is a great place to recharge your batteries. The large property provides shade on summer days and plenty of space inside and out for groups of families and three generation family holidays. There is a great terrace for sharing meals together outdoors; fantastic solar-heated-pool with a secure fence and pool alarm; shaded table tennis and darts area in the poolside barn; grounds to run around in and play together as well as shaded spaces such as benches and hamacs to snooze, relax, read, spot wildlife and savour more peaceful moments. You can enjoy stargazing, discussing the Milky Way and keeping your eyes pinned for shooting stars with the clear night-time skies. On a clear day you may see the magnificent snow-topped Pyrenees.
One of France's best kept secrets, the Chalosse is steeped in history with bastide towns and chateaux to explore; welcoming people; quiet roads; picturesque rolling hills; excellent walks and impressive cycle routes; an Olympic pool, golf and canoeing all locally. This part of French enjoys long warm summers from late April to October with fêtes, brocantes and summer night markets to experience. Create many happy family memories locally or explore further afield the Atlantic Coast, the Pyrenees or San Sebastian and Spain.
