Service Requirement

US Lacrosse requires all rated umpires to provide annual service to their Local Board to be a member in good standing.  The philosophy expressed in the Umpire's Manual is that a
ll active members will experience the benefits of providing service and the “fabric” of Local Boards will be strengthened by this service.

US/Maine Lacrosse requires ALL of the following:

  • A minimum of (2) hours/credits of clinic/classroom attendance,
    • National Convention attendance
    • District clinic attendance
    • New umpire classes 2 and 3 for umpires with less than 3-years of umpiring experience
    • Interpreter's classroom sessions for umpires with 3 or more years of umpiring experience
  • A minimum of (2) hours/credits from other forms of service as suggested on the activities list on the form below
  • A minimum of (2) credits on the field at an MWLOA sanctioned play day per year - Please note that the MWLOA Executive Board has requested a by-law change to remove this requirement for MWLOA officials.  This will be voted on at the 2019 MWLOA Annual Meeting.

Each umpire has a full calendar year to complete the requirements: May 1, 2019 - April 30, 2020.
To be considered “in good standing” for the 2019 season and eligible to receive a game schedule for the 2019 season, every official must complete their service hours by April 30, 2019 and/or document a plan to complete their service hours by April 30th
