2017 Track and Field Season

Congratulations to Sophomore Tommy Brady!!. Tommy earned All State recognition by finishing 8th overall in the 3200 meter final. Tommy's time, 9:18.43, ranks number two all time at Maine South HS.
Seniors Reese Jordan (13th in the 1600 meter run) and Liam Pittges( 16th in the 300 hurdles) ended their careers during Friday's prelims. As noted in the sectional report below, they are two of the finest track athletes Maine South has seen and will be missed.

Senior Liam Pittges followed with a school record 39.47 in the 300 hurdles, finishing 2nd.
Senior Reese Jordan easily won the 1600 to qualify for his 3rd straight IHSA state meet. Reese was All-State last year, finishing 7th in 1600 as a junior. Reese was also an All-Stater last Fall in Cross Country.

More notes: Senior Emmitt Zima finished with a huge PR in the discus throwing 154'7". That performance moved him to #8 all time;unfortunately, he was 4" short of the mark needed to qualify.
Senior Jack Pistorius finished his career ranked in the top ten in both the 110 high hurdles and the triple jump.

The (5) boys mentioned above, along with 1600 meter runner Jr Brandon Christopher, were all named CSL South All-Conference athletes. Congratulations!!
