2015 Track and Field Season

Congratulations! The Varsity finished 2nd at the 8 team Viking Relays. Meet champions included Alex Jasper(pole vault), Kevin Jarvis(shot put), and the sprint relay team of Tommy Bazarek, Nick Sajenko, Alex Jasper, and Tino Lappo. Full results are posted. The sophomores finished 4th with (7) points separating the top 4 teams. Full results are posted.


Winter sport athletes. As your season wraps up, you can move right to track and field. Come to the Fieldhouse in the week after your last practice and see Coach Sutschek




Congratulations to the Boys Cross Country team who qualified for the State meet in Peoria and finished 12th overall.

To all of our State Qualifiers for 2014

Congratulations to John Hader. After (3) seasons as one of the most consistent Varsity sprinters in Maine South history, John was able to establish some new standards for future Maine South athletes.
  #2 all time in the 100 meters at 10.84 (#1 FAT time)
 #1 all time in the 200 meters at 21.76 FAT
 First Maine South Athlete, male or female, to be All State in either the 100 or 200..... and John medaled in both!
  John is competing in track at Eastern Illinois University this Spring
Congratulations to Jack Carpenter. After a 6th place finish in 3A cross country, Jack was the Sectional Champion in the 3200 and finishes his Maine South career as the #2 all time 3200 meter runner!
  Jack was chosen as the 2014 senior athlete of the year.
  Jack is competing for Marquette University in both Cross Country and Track
Congratulations to Henry Mierzwa. Henry completed his junior season as the #4 all time 1600 meter runner and State qualifier.
Congratulations to Paul DAmbrosio. Paul completed his junior season as the #5 all time 3200 meter runner and State qualifier.
Congratulations to the 4 x 100 meter relay team. The team of Sr Clay Burdelik, So Nick Sajenko, Jr Tommy Bazarek, and Sr John Hader ran the 4th fastest time in school history
