Welcome to Magic in Famous Mysteries! In this class we will be exploring mysteries that have puzzled Muggles for many centuries. I'll fill you in on what the Muggles believe and what the actual, usually simple, Wizarding explanation is.
This is a frame from the Patterson-Gimlin film, which purports to capture a female sasquatch crossing a dry creek bed in California.

For numerous centuries, there have many unexplainable mysteries, some of which you are probably very familiar with - the Bermuda Triangle, Stonehenge, Sasquatch, etc. Wizards have perfectly acceptable reasons for why these "mysteries" exist though. And if you wish to learn more about them, then this is the class for you!

Magic in Famous Mysteries was originally taught by Prof. Allie de Mauvaisefoi. But due to unfortunate circumstances (known as real life), she discontinued it. Alexia Riaper took over the class, as this was one of her favourite classes, with a few minor changes here and there. Next came Prof. Scarlet Leslie-Lewis, who also loved this class and got permission from Alexia to bring it back again. My name is Polaris Black of Ravenclaw. I too loved this class and am thrilled to be entrusted with it. And assisting me this year is Hannah R Thomas, an amazing Ravenclaw prefect.

Any questions about the class should be sent to the class email hol.mifm @ gmail.com (without the spaces) and one of us will answer as soon as possible!
