Unit 4‎ > ‎

Chapter 6: A Tour of the Cell

Often referred to as the building blocks of life, cells are amazingly complex units, containing a variety of structures that perform all of the processes we rely on for maintaining our health.  In this chapter we will learn about the processes involved in transporting materials across the cell membrane, the boundary that separates the cell from the external environment.  Then we will travel into the cell and learn about the organ-like structures, the organelles, that carry out the functional roles they play in our lives.
