Weddings

Weddings have been part of the tradition of the church for many years, and the church is truly a beautiful and fitting setting for the wedding ceremony. Even more important than simply a setting for the wedding, the church is the place where we gather to worship and celebrate God and God’s blessings to us and God’s love for us. So any ceremony within the church is intended to be a sacred and solemn celebration that befits the location.

Those wishing to be married at St. John are required to meet with the Pastor for at least two pre-marital counseling sessions that last about 1 ½ to 2 hours each. These sessions make it possible for the Pastor and the couple to plan the service and all the details for the event plus discuss what marriage is.
