Special & Seasonal Services

Christmas Season
We have a service on Christmas Eve at 11:00 p.m. It is a very moving service filled with the joy of the coming Christ. Children are invited to wear their pajamas to the late service so parents can slip them into bed after the service. We close the services by singing Silent Night and lighting each other’s candles. The sanctuary becomes filled with only the light from our candles. The other service is Christmas Day at 10:00 a.m. Please join us as we celebrate our Christ's birth with inspirational messages and songs.

Lighting of the Advent Wreath - Each Sunday in Advent a different family or individual lights one of the candles on the advent wreath, representing Hope, Peace, Joy and Love.

Christmas Pageant - During one of the Sunday services in Advent the children put on a Christmas pageant, usually a creative twist on the traditional tale.

Easter Season

Easter starts off with a party on Fat Tuesday, or as we call it Fastnacht. We have a traditional German meal of pancakes and sausage. A band plays old German dancing music and we celebrate in preparation for the coming day.

Ash Wednesday service is the following night at 7:00 p.m. We then go into our Lenten season of remembering Christ’s sacrifice and challenging ourselves to walk closer to Christ for the next forty days.

The Good Friday service at 7:00 p.m. is the Friday before Easter. This is a dark service recalling Christ’s crucifixion.

Then comes the great celebration of Easter marked with a Sunrise service at 6:30 a.m. in the cemetery. We have a breakfast at 7:15 a.m. for those early morning worshipers. Then there is time to rest before the big service at 10:00 a.m. The church fills up but there is always room for you and your family. The choir is amazing and never fails to elevate us to new heights. Of course the sermon is filled with hope for our renewed life in Christ and we come to the communion table to receive all gifts from our risen Lord.
