Updates on orders and contact

posted Feb 8, 2017, 11:42 AM by Morgan McGrath

First, and most importantly I want to send out a big thank you to everyone who has contacted me to tell me how much they love my glasses and inquire about how to order them. Thank you to everyone who has left comments, thank you all for the post shares and likes and any other form of encouragement I am leaving out. This support is like oxygen to an artist, it helps us to thrive, and it is so very much appreciated! I don’t have the words to express how very much this means to me (and to all artists!).

Now, with all of that, why is my response rate so terrible you ask? I promise it is not out of lack of appreciation! It seems all this activity seems to happen in waves, and one factor is that I get easily overwhelmed. When you suddenly have 50 messages, where do you even start?

I am not currently taking orders, even though I would love to make glasses for each and every inquiry - I love my work going to someone who will treasure it, that is such a large part of what makes art meaningful for me. Unfortunately, at least for the next year, I cannot figure out a way to  squeeze art into my schedule (With career, grad school, etc, I am lucky to get 5-7 hours of sleep a night, I literally have no down time ><). A set of glasses can easily take 5+ hours (sometimes much more!).

All glasses pictured have already been sold, gifted or donated, and many were custom orders. When I am taking orders, I can always do similar claywork to a previous creation, but the glass itself is subject to what I am able to find, which makes recreating a specific glass sometimes very challenging.

Thank you again to everyone for all of your interested and support! You all are awesome!!

Custom Orders....

So, I typically don't offer custom orders. This is mainly because I will drive myself crazy with them, constantly fretting that they will turn out well, that they are being done on time, and so on. However I have thought to maybe put up a couple of listings on Etsy and see how things go. These listings are for glass colors which I currently have, and I have also listed leaf colors, though I would certianly be willing to use other colors if desired. The listing for custom orders cn be found here:

Where has MaevinWren gone??

Thank you so much to all who have posted comments on Facebook or contacted me via Facebook, Etsy, or email. Your interest and kind words have been greatly appreciated!

I have taken a bit of a break from claywork this past year - it has been one crazy, busy, amazing year! I began a new career, received the news that my father had stage 4 cancer, had a surprise surgery (damn you appendicitis! ^^), lost my wonderful father (I could never come up with enough adjectives to describe his greatness, so I won't even try!) and moved into a new home. Like I said - crazy year!

I will be working on new clay creations just as soon as I have a free weekend and have my art room set up. Hopefully there will be some new items up on Etsy soon and photos added to Facebook!

Thank you all again for your comments - they have been great encouragement for me to pick up the clay!

Moving Sites Soon..

I think I am reasonably happy with google sites, while the design is much much more limited then were I to design it myself, I think the ease of updates will be worth it. I am hoping to move the site this next week, if everything seems to be working correctly. Hopefully I don't get too bogged down at work!

The Comments Box...

Ok, I like a lot of how google sites works, but there are a few things that are driving me nuts. First, the comments box. The background is freaking yellow. Its from the base template I selected but I cannot change the freaking color. Grrrr. I've taken comments off most of the pages as a result. Second, the horizontal line. Can't change its color either. Kinda frustrating.
