Hadley Grass

Asparagus has long played a part of the heritage and history of Hadley -- Hadley was once called the Asparagus Capital of the World.  But it's not asparagus -- it's called Hadley Grass here.

In the springtime, asparagus can be found bunched in trays of water on picnic tables in people's front lawns, at small farm stands, in the grocery stores selling local produce, and even at dairies.  In fact, Hadley favourite Flayvors of Cook Farms makes their own Hadley Grass ice cream -- a delightfully mild cream, asparagus, and almond concoction.
