A compact, multi-stemmed, fine textured, deciduous shrub with an upright spreading
habit of growth with burgundy leaves.
 
Grows at a medium rate. Under ideal conditions can be expected to live for about
30 years.

Height: 3-4 ft by 3-4 ft spread.

Sun to part shade.

Adaptable to dry or moist locations. Not particular to soil type or pH.

Blooms small pinkish-white spirea-like flowers in early summer followed by subtle
reddish fruit. Has interesting peeling papery bark. The burgundy leaves turn purple
in fall.
 
Low maintenance. Can be pruned at anytime.
