Coral Honeysuckle Vine

Lonicera sempervirens

Hardy zones 4-8

A twining, semi-evergreen vine producing clusters of trumpet-shaped flowers that are orange
to red on the outside and yellow inside.

Height 3-10 ft x 3-6 ft spread.

Succeeds in most soils but prefers a good moist soil in a sunny position. Does not flower well
when grown in shade.

The delicate but striking, two-inch-long, tapered, trumpet-shaped blooms appear from spring
through summer.

Evergreen in the lower South, trumpet honeysuckle may die back during a hard freeze but
will recover.

Not as aggressive as the Japanese honeysuckle.

Flowers are pollinated by hummingbirds and insects. Their red seeds attract songbirds.
