The following 10 athletes, through a combination of on the field rage, and off the field incidents, prove that some athletes are just down right crazy.

Number 10

Ty Cobb

Ty Cobb has been called by many as the dirtiest player to ever play the game of baseball. The best story is about a young pitcher who intentionally beaned him in his first plate appearance. Cobb took his base without saying a word. The next time he came up to bat, he dropped a bunt down the first-base line. When the pitcher went to field the ball, Cobb knocked him over, then spiked him on the chest. The pitcher was sliced open and had to leave the game. Cobb was also a very strong racist.

Watch the following video of LT's hit on Joe Thiesman and you will know how brutal LT was on the field.

Number 8

John Rocker

Atlanta Braves pitcher John Rocker made headlines in 2000 after making racist remarks towards minorities in New York City. He said, ""It's the most hectic, nerve-racking city. Imagine having to take the 7 Train to the ballpark, looking like you're riding through Beirut next to some kid with purple hair, next to some queer with AIDS, right next to some dude who just got out of jail for the fourth time, right next to some 20-year-old mom with four kids. It's depressing." Rocker was recently named as a baseball player who took HGH and steroids. He also launched a "Learn English" campaign which was created to supposedly preserve American culture. In short, he is a retard.

Number 7

Ron Artest

Artest makes the list after being the key figure in the infamous Pacers vs Pistons brawl. During this incident Artest, after fighting with Pistons center Ben Wallace, jumped into the crowd and started fighting with a fan that threw a cup of beer at him. Artest then went back to the court and fought another fan that was taunting him. In 2004 he asked his coach for a month off from the team so that he could promote his rap album.

Number 6

Terry O'Reilly

O'Reilly was a hockey player for the Boston Bruins in the 1970's and 80's. O'Reilly was a tough player and in an infamous December 26, 1979 incident at Madison Square Garden, during a post-game fight, a New York Rangers fan stole Stan Jonathan's stick and hit him with it. O'Reilly charged into the stands and began to fight with the fans. The character of Happy Gilmore claimed to have modeled his game after O'Reilly.

Number 5

OJ Simpson

If the glove don't fit, you must acquit. OJ Simpson is one of the craziest athletes after being charged and acquitted for a double murder. He also fought his teammates in practice when he punched Marcus Williams in the face in 2003, an incident which took him to court. All of this rage can probably be attributed to the fact that he took steroids.

Number 1

Mike Tyson

My cousin Mike Tyson is in my opinion, the craziest athlete of all time. From the numerous quotes such as "I will eat your children" or "I do not give interviews to females unless I fornicate with them" to biting off Evander Holyfield's ear, to getting a tattoo on his face, Mike Tyson is one crazy guy. (Mike Tyson is my cousin because my great uncle, Cus D'Amato adopted him when he was 13.)
