Plant Lists and Photographs
There are over 450 native plants listed on this website. This covers nearly all of the known non-aquatic plants of the Macedon Range.
The listings include species compiled from the following sources:
  • Native Plants of the Macedon Ranges Davis & Kemp (1984)  and Supplement by Barry Kemp, Carol Elkington & Ian Lunt (1985)
  • Flora Information System, Department of Sustainability and Environment (2009)
  • NatureShare
  • Atlas of Living Australia
  • Personal observations by David Francis including previously unrecorded species, and a few species of interest observed outside the Macedon Range area proper but within the Shire of Macedon Ranges - marked "&" in the alphabetical listing.
All photographs on this website have been taken by David Francis.  Links to NatureShare photos are given for photos unavailable on this site (shown by purple text in the alphabetical listing).
Most photos have been taken in the Macedon Ranges but where no satisfactory local photo is available, a photo from another part of Victoria may be used.
Weeds, including natives originating from other areas, are listed separately.

For definitions of botanical terms used in the descriptions go to the glossary at: http://data.rbg.vic.gov.au/vicflora/flora/glossary
