Welcome to the home of Mount Arlington Blue Thunder Soccer. 

Here you will find information on our happenings, programs, sponsors as well as Booster Club information on cleat closet and MTASoccer Merchandise.

The goal of our league is to provide a safe and productive environment that enables children to learn and apply the principles of teamwork, discipline, dedication, and sportsmanship. We facilitate the development of strength and character in every child that participates. Participation in our league is open to all boys and girls ages 3 - 19 years old. We are a member of the Rockaway Valley Soccer League and New Jersey Youth Soccer.

We are sustained by the efforts of volunteers who display an extraordinary amount of commitment and hard work, ensuring that our soccer programs are a positive influence in the lives of our children. We also strive to provide a service to our community by providing a healthy outlet for children, opportunities for the community to gather together, and endless hours of entertainment. Full Registrations can be dropped off Mon –Fri 7:30am-3:00pm in the recreation mailbox at the Recreation Department lobby located on Altenbrand Ave in the Mount Arlington DPW building by Fireman’s Field.

NEW REGISTRATION FORMS FOR FALL 2016/SPRING 2017
Old forms will not be accepted.
There are now different forms for Munchkin/Toddler and another for League.  The new forms have less pages and new information, please be sure to read and fill out everything as things have changed.

SPRING SHORT FORMS:
For those who played Fall 2016 in Toddler, Munchkin or League Soccer may use the Spring Short Form.  The only exception is for Munchkin players who are moving up to league you must fill out a League Form.  All players who did not play in the Fall, must fill out the long form.

Toddler Program:
Please note that due to the popularity of our Toddler program a waiting list may be put in place as program is based on a coach to child ratio.  If you are interested in helping out coaching under one of of our experienced head coaches please our Sign up to coach page of our website.  

Upper Division:  
Please note due to low turnout of the upper division programs a waiting list may be put in placed if it is anticipated that there will not be enough to field a team.  Girls wishing to play on the boys team in their age group may do so with parent and soccer coordinator permission.

Mount Arlington resident and surrounding area boys and girls from 3 through 17 years old are eligible to participate.

AGES 3-6
TODDLER & MUNCHKIN SOCCER

PROGRAM SLATED TO BEGIN TBA

Toddlers:  10:30AM MAPS SCHOOL
Munchkins:  11:30AM MAPS SCHOOL

All practices and games will be held at MAPS School unless otherwise specified.

Each Season runs for 8 weeks.  Spring Season will generally start the first Saturday after Easter (but may be prior if Easter is late). Fall season starts the first Saturday after Labor Day.

Mount Arlington Munchkin & Toddler Clinics are open to all Mt. Arlington, Landing & Roxbury residents children ages 3-6 years old.

**Note: MTA Munchkin/Toddler Soccer and MTA Coach Pitch/Tee-Ball DO NOT overlap. Tee-Ball/Coach Pitch is in the morning and Soccer is held after. 

We would like to keep children in their correct age group if at all possible. Exceptions will only be made on a case by case basis (ex. child's size/skill/experience). We would like to keep siblings together however it could become unsafe for the children if larger children are on the Toddler clinic and vice versa.

  • Toddler Clinic - Open to children ages 3 & 4. (Must be 3 prior to 09/12) This is an introduction to soccer, with practices and drills and perhaps a game or two! This will take place on Saturday's (between 11am-4pm) possible Sunday's for makeup's.Toddler Clinic may incur a waiting list  due to lack of coaches or heavy volume of signups. If you would like to sign up to coach in the spring please contact Brenda. 

  • Munchkin Clinic - Open to children ages 5 & 6. (6 year olds have the option of being on the munchkin clinic or moving up to league. We recommend if your child is not quite ready for league or is new to the sport they should do a season of Munchkins first) This is also an introduction to soccer, with practices and games! This will prep the children for introduction into league soccer. This will take place on Saturday's (between 11am-4pm) possible Sunday's for makeup's. There may also be additional weeknight practices which will be optional pending coach/parents availability. This will be optional for the kids. 

Some things to know & have ready before the season starts.
  • All Munchkin players must have a water bottle, shin guards and soccer cleats.
  • All Toddler players must have a water bottle, shin guards and sneakers or soccer cleats. Cleats are not mandatory
  • Water will not be supplied at games, everyone will bring their own water bottle to both practices and games.
  • All players will receive new tee-shirts each season. These will be supplied to you within the first 2 weeks of practice. They are to be worn at both practices and games.
  • No player is to wear a hooded sweatshirt at practices or games.
  • No jewelry is to be worn, only exceptions will be religious pendant taped to the chest (chain removed) or medical bracelet also needs to be taped to the skin. This includes barrettes, beads, headbands, etc.
  • If eye glasses are worn they must be secured with a band
  • No child will be permitted to play without a release note from the doctor following a reported serious injury/surgery/illness. No child may play with a cast.
  • Parents will be asked to take turns bringing snacks to the kids practices & games or contributing funds towards snack. Team mom will set up the schedule.
  • Parents may be asked to take turns running the concession stand.
PARENTS MUST BE PRESENT AT ALL TIMES WITH YOUR CHILDREN !  NO EXCEPTIONS!
SPRING 2016 -

AGES 6-9
LOWER DIVISION LEAGUE SOCCER

These are co-ed Divisions for children 6-9 year old.
E Division - 6 Year olds (generally we do not have this div 6 year olds are placed on D Division)
D Division - 6-7 Year olds
C Division - 8-9 year olds

All practices and home games will be held at MAPS School or Fireman's Field unless otherwise specified.

Spring Season will generally start the first Saturday after Easter (but may be prior if Easter is late). Spring season runs for 10-11 Weeks. 8 Weeks of games and 2-3 weeks of practices.  Fall season starts the first Saturday after Labor Day. Spring season runs for 12-13 Weeks. 10 Weeks of games and 2-3 weeks of practices.

Practice run for the duration of the season, 1-2xs weeks for 1-1 1/2 hrs.  Practices can run anywhere between 5:30-8:00pm in the evenings, based on coach availability.

Practices and Game Schedules will be provided by your team mom and coaches.  Game schedules and field directions are available on www.rvsl.org.

Requirements at Registration:
  • Children must turn 6 by 4/1 or 10/1 of the current year to enter into league.
  • Birth Certificate is required to be on file. If your child has not played in 2 years you will need to provide a new copy.  
  • Children will play in their correct age group unless child is recommended by coach and approved by the Soccer Coordinator and RVSL League Reps to play up as well as parent consent.  Children will move up in the Fall every other year.
  • Completed Registration Form. 
Some things to know & have for the season.
  • Both Parents and Players will need to be familiar with the Rockaway Valley Soccer League Rules. www.rvsl.org
  • All players must have a water bottle, shin guards and soccer cleats.
  • Water will not be supplied at games, everyone will bring their own water bottle to both practices and games.
  • All league players will receive new uniforms in the Fall, and wear the same uniform in the Spring. New uniforms will be issued in the fall only for kids that did not play in the Fall. The current uniform is black shorts, Columbia blue shirts with black on the sides white number, and Columbia blue socks.
  • If it is cold out, long pants may be worn under shorts for divisions C-D-E. Divisions. Pants must be light color or color similar to team uniforms and must be worn under team’s shorts.
  • No player is to wear a hooded sweatshirt at practices or games.
  • No jewelry is to be worn, only exceptions will be religious pendant taped to the chest (chain removed) or medical bracelet also needs to be taped to the skin. This includes barrettes, beads, headbands, etc.
  • If eye glasses are worn they must be secured with a band
  • No child will be permitted to play without a release note from the doctor following a reported serious injury/surgery/illness. No child may play with a cast.
  • No player will be permitted to walk home. Please make arrangements for your child if you cannot pick them up.
  • Parents will be asked to take turns bringing oranges to the kids games and running the concession stand for the duration of the game if game is scheduled at Fireman's Field. Team mom will set up the schedule.
PARENTS MUST BE PRESENT AT ALL TIMES WITH YOUR CHILDREN !  If you are leaving your child with another parent please assure that the coach is aware.
SPRING 2016 -

These are Divisions for children 10-17 year old.  These divisions are split between boys and girls teams.  Girls may play on the boys teams if a team does not exist upon approval of the Soccer Coordinator, League Rep and parent.

A Division - 12-13 - 
AA Division - 14-17 WAITING LIST email  to be placed on the waiting list, will notify when and if there is enough for a team.
