Maartje (1994, Almelo) started flute lessons at the age of seven. At the moment she is a bachelor student of Jeroen Bron at the Royal Conservatoire The Hague (The Netherlands). Maartje was studied with teachers such as Susan Milan, Emily Beynon, Wieke Karsten, Thies Roorda, prof. Felix Renggli and Marieke Schneemann. She has performed and went to masterclasses in the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, England and Italy. 

In april 2014, Maartje won the first prize and the Silveer van den Broeck-prize for the best performance of the obligate work. 

She played and plays in a variety of orchestras, for example the youth symphony orchestra of Twente, het Groot Entrée Orkest (a project orchestra of the Concertgebouw Orchestra Amsterdam for young talented musicians) and the Dutch Student Chamber Orchestra.Maartje likes to play chamber music in diverse settings. Maartje is also studying musicology at the University of Amsterdam.
