Automatic LyX updates can be set:
  • Getdeb repository provides latest version of LyX for Ubuntu users. This link shows how to use Getdeb repository updates.
  • LyX PPA release from launchpad
Windows: If you do not have MikTeX, you need the bundle installer LyX-206-Bundle Installer. If you have installed MikTeX, you can use LyX-206 Installer.
