Budget Vote 2016

Voters in the Lynbrook Union Free School District approved the 2016-2017 proposed budget of $80,867,382 by a vote of 1,270 to 530.

Proposition 2 on the ballot, authorizing the district to expend $450,000 from the Technology Replacement Fund for replacement of projectors, instructional technology devices, firewall replacement, remote access servers and phone system upgrades passed by a vote of 1,359 to 447.

Proposition 3 authorizing the expenditure of $1,885,000 from the Renovation and Improvement of Facilities Fund to replace the boilers at both middle schools, complete high school ceiling and lighting replacements, renovate a boys bathroom at North Middle, repave the North Middle parking lot and replace the South Middle gym floor passed by a vote of 1,306 to 406.

Incumbents William Belmont and Heather Hanson were reelected to the Board of Education, with votes of 1,135 and 1,057 respectively. Challengers Renee Gaughran, Janessa Harvin and Michael Moreo received 448, 223 and 265 votes respectively.
