Born June 25, 1970, in Norfolk, Virginia, Alexander Bracey, III is the second child and only son of the late Alexander Bracey, Jr. and Barbara Stanley Bracey who is now married to Jonathan Scott. He has one sibling, a sister, Mrs. Katrina D. Bracey Miller of Norfolk, Virginia.

He graduated from Norview High School in Norfolk, Virginia in 1989. He furthered his education by attending Elizabeth City State University where he earned his B.S. Degree in Business Administration concentrating in Economics and Finance. He earned his Master of Divinity degree at the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University on May 10, 2010.

Reverend Bracey is married to the lovely Miss Felicia Yvette Mullen, formally of Elizabeth City, North Carolina, and they are blessed with three beautiful children: Darius Travon, Alexis Danielle, and Ashleigh Alexander.

He is employed with the United States Navy as a “Regional Transportation Specialist" at the Norfolk Naval Base. Reverend Bracey’s early spiritual education was gained at First Baptist Church, Berkley, in Norfolk, Virginia. There, he was dedicated to the Church as an infant, baptized into the Body, attended youth meetings, fellowships, gatherings, Sunday School, and Vacation Bible School and ultimately became the Youth Moderator for the youth church under the leadership of the late Reverend Dr. William D. Tyree, Jr. and later, Reverend Dr. William D. Tyree, III.

Reverend Bracey has served as an associate minister of Gethsemane Baptist Church in Newport News, Virginia, under the pastorate of the Reverend Dr. Dwight S. Riddick, Sr. While there, he served as the Superintendent of the Sunday school and assisted with the leading of the men’s ministry. He was ordained December 3, 2011 by Reverend Dr. Dwight S. Riddick, Sr. In March 2012, Reverend Bracey accepted the Call to become the Pastor of First Gravel Hill Baptist Church in Smithfield, Virginia. When God assigned Pastor Bracey to this branch of Zion, the Holy Spirit also equipped him with a vision to lead this body of believers to “Maximize the Mission of Jesus Christ”.

Additionally, He serves as 2nd Vice Moderator with the Lebanon Virginia Baptist Association and Allied Bodies. He is a committed man of God who firmly believes in Proverbs 3:5-6, “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto your own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and He shall direct thy paths.”
