About Diane S. Gallagher


Diane Shugrue Gallagher, New York City born, now resides in Brookline, MA. Mother of four, Nana to two grandchildren, she works as the Nursing History and University archivist at the Howard Gotlieb Archival Research Center at Boston University. A graduate of Colby Sawyer College, Lesley University, she attended The Neighborhood Playhouse, School of the Theater, NYC. Diane served as a volunteer in the Peace Corps, Cape Verde, West Africa, at the age of 53. Diane serves on the Cape Verde Children’s Coalition Advisory Board of Directors, on the Advisory Council of The Scottish Coalition, U.S. A. and is a long standing member of the Harvard Host Family Program.  Her numerous awards include; Distinguished Alumni Award; Colby Sawyer College, United States President’s Volunteer award, The Lillian Carter Award, and was made an Honorary Member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Society.
