Today at 2:45, Heather Lost her fight and went to be with the Lord. Thank you to all the people that have been there for Heather and her family all these months. I will post any memorial information when one is planned.
8/3/2011Heather had to be taken to surgery with a life threatening infection called mucor. Half of her right cheek and a 1/4 deep will have to be removed we are uncertain at this time how extensive the infection really is. They did a cat scan prior to surgery and they feel confident it has not yet reached the brain. They say the surgery will be 2 hours they say after the surgery that she will have to be on a strong anitbotic and that she has a chance of theinfection coming back with a venegenace. We are unsure at this time what he prognosis is but as soon as we know something i will pass information on to all of you please prayers are still needed
Heather has had numerous challenges since her transplant. She was doing well enough to leave the hospital for a while, and we even thought she was well enough to return to Wenatchee, but then she took a turn for the worse, and is back in ICU. She has battled infection and rejection, and continues to fight. As of today, she is back on a ventilator.
Heather recieved her transplant on April 13th, 2011
Heather is a young mom who needs a lung transplant. She was born with cystic fibrosis, and it's robbing her of the ability to breathe. She found out that she's been approved to start the process for a lung transplant!
There's only one snag, her family just found out that since Heather turned 25 she will be taken off her Dads medical insurance as of the 31st of December. Because of the cuts to medicaid in Washington State, where they live, she won't be elgible for that either. The new rules for adding older kids to insurance apply to policies that renew after Sept. 23rd, and theirs renewed on Sept. 1st.
Their only option is to pay for COBRA from until she can be added to Dad's policy again. It's expensive and the cost of transportation and other expenses adds up. Please keep them in your prayers, and If you can help, Contact her Mom, Bobbie, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
