I am a Senior Economist at Amazon working in HR Science as part of Amazon’s Global Talent Management and Compensation Organization. I use econometrics and causal ML to design models that enable us to build personalized experiences for Amazon’s corporate workforce of over 250,000 employees and to evaluate the effectiveness of our programs.

My academic research examines the causal impact of public policies in the United States and internationally. I have studied the effect of the expiration of the Assault Weapons Ban and deregulation of healthcare markets in the United States, as well as the intergenerational benefits of expanded access to antiretroviral therapy in regions with high rates of HIV/AIDS, and the impact of primary education reforms in Sub-Saharan Africa. Overall, I am interested in both identifying the incentives that encourage greater human capital accumulation, and estimating the returns to increased investment in people.
