I work as an economist (advisor) for the DG Economics, Statistics and Research of Bank of Italy, in the Financial Stability Directorate. 

My main interests lie in empirical banking and financial intermediation.

I obtained a B.Sc. in Economics in 2003 from the University of Siena. 

I hold Master in International Economics and a Ph.D in Economics from the University of Rome Tor Vergata. During my doctoral studies I was a Fulbright visiting research student at Boston College.

I began working for the Research Department of Bank of Italy at the end of 2008. 

In the academic year 2015/16 I was a visiting research scholar at Columbia Business School. 

In 2018 I was on leave from the Bank of Italy and worked for the Research Department of the European Central Bank.
