I work for the DG Economics, Statistics and Research of Bank of Italy, in the International Economics Directorate, as head of the Advanced Economies and Macroeconomic Policies division.

My main interests lie in banking, financial intermediation and the international transmission of shocks.

I obtained a B.Sc. in Economics in 2003 from the University of Siena.  

I hold a Master in International Economics and a Ph.D in Economics from the University of Rome Tor Vergata. During my doctoral studies I was a Fulbright visiting research student at Boston College.

I began working for the Bank of Italy in 2008. In the academic year 2015/16 I was a visiting research scholar at Columbia Business School. 

In 2018 I worked as a National Expert for the Research Department of the European Central Bank.

In 2021-22 I was advisor to the Italian Minister of Finance.
