Lucknow Airport- Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport, Lucknow

Lucknow Airport, previously called Amausi International Airport is now renamed as Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport. Constructed in the year 1986 mainly with the purpose of facilitating VIPs, it was only in 2005 when the AAI took decision to upgrade the Airport owing to increased number of passengers and also because of introduction of private operators in the sector.

A new terminal, equipped with latest technology, at Lucknow's Chaudhary Charan Singh Airport is operative since June 2, 2012. The terminal was inaugurated by civil aviation minister, Ajit Singh on May 19, 2012. It is being  used both for arrivals and departures of domestic and international flights. The new terminal is a three-tier building which can accommodate around 650 passengers at a time.   Daily around 32 flights operate  from Lucknow Airport.

What's new: The new terminal of Lucknow Airport has departure and arrival ports on its  ground level and the first floor has a waiting hall which is connected to two aerobridges.  These aero-bridges enables passengers to walk straight into the waiting aircraft.  Many facilities have been provided like duty free shops, cyber cafes, snack bars, shopping arcade and book shops, etc. A large area has been used as Parking area, although it is not covered.  But at least it is much convenient than the old terminal.
