Hello! Our ESL5 class had an activity involving planting seeds. Each student chose one kind of seed to plant. This activity is best for our school because planting seeds does not have short-term effects; it has trained us to be successful and grow on the inside. As we saw the seeds grow day by day, we also felt happy. It gave us a good feeling when we saw the plants each morning. The most important thing about our plants is that it helps to make air fresh through photosynthesis, which is the exchange of carbon dioxide and oxygen. Thus, this project was a way to protect our environment. Although we eat vegetables everyday, how many people actually know how to plant vegetale? However, we now understand through planting how to plant vegetables. We all want to promote planting because it can make our community better. Thank you for reading!

The FIRST competition is over. LESP had two teams in the FIRST Technology Competition and one team in the FIRST Robotics Competition. The ranks are respectively 12/35, 28/35 and 52/65. We saw many well-designed robots at the Javits Center. We still have a long way to go, buut the games are still fun and exciting. The most valuable aspect of the competition is that our students had opportunity to participate, learn and to compete with students from many elite schools from NYC and around the world. I am sure that this event will be memorable in their lives. At the same time, I am proud of what our teams did. All student members deserve a pat on the back. For sure, they will benefit from this valuable learning experience. I should also point out that during the building process, students found the LESP robot team a comfortable place to be; a place where they were able to apply their skills and knowledge and a place where they showed a great deal of interest. Many realized that they are in fact supported by the principals, teachers and their fellow students. In this regard, I would like to extend my thankfulness for the support and encouragement from every one of you, teachers, administrators, and LESP students.
We are still a new team. We will keep trying and we expect your continuing support and encouragement.
Special thanks to Jim Gong, a great partner to work with, to Hopeton Davis and Bill Szutu for assisting the teams.
