Staggered Fern

These 20 stitches are worked on a background of Stockinette Stitch (knit one row, purl one row).

Cast on 50  (or you can increase or decrease the begininng and ending stitches as you see fit, just remember to keep it consistant)

Row 1: (right side)  K15, P2, K9, YO, K1, YO, K3, slip 1, K2tog, PSSO, P2,K15

Row 2 and every even row:  Purl across

Row 3: K15, P2, K10, YO, K1, YO, K2, slip 1, K2tog, PSSO, P2, K15

Row 5: K15, P2, K3tog, K4, YO, K1, YO, K3, YO, K1, YO, K1, slip 1, K2tog, PSSO, P2,K15

Row 7: K15, P2, K3tog, K3, YO, K1, YO, K9, P2,K15

Row 9: K15,P2, K3tog, K2, YO, K1, YO, K10, P2,K15

Row 11: K15, P2, K3tog, K1, YO, K1, YO, K3, YO, K1, YO, K4, slip 1, K2tog, PSSO, P2, K15

Row 12:  Repeat Row 2

Repeat these 12 rows until desired length.
