Funicular station of Super Cannes

The funicular connected the lower part of Cannes to the observatory of Super Cannes, in the district of California, from 1928 to 1966.

Popular, he was a ballad for the people from Cannes and tourists.
The site offers panoramic views of Cap d'Antibes to the Esterel, and the hinterland.

The departure terminal in neo-Provençal style, imitating a rural chapel, was decorated with paintings of Louis Pastour.
Two huge paintings representing east and west Cannes , adorned the walls, and also various posters of the painter.

Bought by the City of Cannes, they are the highlight of the prestigious exhibition "Landscape and worldliness" Cannes 1850-1950,
conducted in 2000 at Malmaison on the Croisette.
