Mayor Louie A. Lujan, City of La Puente

Louie's work as an elected official since 1999 have earned him the respect and reputation of a statesman.  He has been given the honor of serving as Mayor, Vice Mayor and Councilmember for the City of La Puente; and as Vice President and Director for the La Puente Valley County Water District.  Additionally, He has served as a member of various commissions, boards, and committees on the national, state, and local level.

His collaborative style and diplomatic approach have earned him praise from respected leaders across the state of California such as Dennis Washburn, Mayor of the City of Calabasas.  As Louie was nominated for a seat on the South Coast Air Quality Management District (AQMD), Mayor Washburn described Louie's handling of his position by saying "That was some great statesmanship on the part of Mayor Louie Lujan if I've ever seen it". 

His professional approach to public policy have also earned him praise from University of Southern California (USC) professors such as Chester Newland, a professor in the School of Policy, Planning and Development.  Newland has said that "Louie has high intelligence. He was blessed with competencies". 

Louie's reputation as a statesman have earned him key posts such as a Committee Member for the National League of Cities Technology Council, a Delegate for the California League of Cities, the Foothill Transit Zone, the L.A. County Sanitation District, and the San Gabriel Valley Council of Governments.  

Louie vows to continue his work as a selfless, tireless, committed and effective public servant who always has serving his constituents and working for the public good as his driving goals.
