Lotfi ben Othmane is currently the Head of the Secure Software Engineering group at Fraunhofer SIT, Germany and an Adjunct progfessor at Sherbrooke University, Canada. He is an IEEE Cyber Security Ambassador. He received his Ph.D. degree from Western Michigan University (WMU), USA, in 2010; the M.S. degree in computer science from University of Sherbrooke, Canada, in 2000; and the B.S degree in information systems from University of Economics and Management of Sfax, Tunisia, in 1995. He worked for 13 years in the industry in Tunisia, Canada, USA, and switched to the academia in 2008. He was previously with the Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e), Netherlands and Lero-The Irish Software Engineering Research Centre, Ireland. Dr ben Othmane is currently investigating the use of data science in secure software development and the development of secure systems using the agile approach. He has about 30 peer-reviewed publications, served as a technical program committee member for several international conferences, and is an active reviewer for journals and conferences in the area of digital security.
