Spring Clean Week -  16th to 24th March 2013

A week in spring for Lostwithiel people to pull together to help spruce up our environment.  Examples of various aspects of the town that could be improved are shown in these photographs.

The Spring Clean can include individuals, neighbourhoods, businesses and organisations.Although ideas will be suggested the community will be encouraged to generate its own ideas. Spring Clean projects can range from tiny, no-cost ideas (e.g. clean windows or sweep the street in front of your house) to more ambitious schemes. The idea is that there is nothing too small and there can be something for everyone.

We aim to involve local organisations and businesses to contribute by offering assistance or resources.

A wealth of ideas has been generated talking to local residents. Suggestions have included;

• Weeding and sweeping up
• Litter picks and rubbish clearance
• Cleaning up town signage
• Garden tidy
• Pressure washing walls
• Cleaning windows
• A lick of paint
• Tidy up the notice boards
• Target the town grot-spots
• Help a less able neighbour with a tidy up
• Hanging baskets and window boxes
• Tidying the trees on the parade
• Organisations ‘adopting’ a small area to look after for a few months
