Coach's Edge - LVRC at Killington

Post date: Nov 24, 2016 2:48:01 AM

To All,

I will be heading over to Killington this weekend for the Women's World Cup, the first in the east coast since 1991 (when Julie Parisien won at Waterville Valley). It should be a great first hand view of the best in the world. I will take good notes!

I am greatly encouraged by this cold weather, and the enthusiasm and organization exhibited by John Herrick and the LVRC Board as we approach the season. Alpine skiing is data driven so the parent/athlete meeting Nov 29 is important.

The season is short so hitting the ground running is key: thinking about skiing, watching skiing, preparing equipment etc... Are all integral to success. Everyone should be thinking about footbeds, even the over the counter from CVS.

It would be great to have a good turnout at our early season sessions in December. There is no substitute for time on snow.

Have a great Thanksgiving!

See you all soon.

Coach Allan
