Coach's Corner - Food for Thought

Folks: I’d really like to try and establish a third-training session on a weekly basis. This idea has been floated before but without consensus. It is my opinion athletes need at least 3 training sessions per week to progress to truly state-wide competitive levels. We currently train Monday and Wednesday. Alternatives (with advantages and disadvantages): Thursday evening (Bud night takes place that night so we would be restricted to Bobcat and/or Bull Moose, not necessarily bad things); Friday (advantage is it creates 3 well-spaced training sessions, M,W, Fri, disadvantage it is a Friday evening. We could start at 5 p.m. to get people on and off the hill earlier); Saturday morning (9 – 11 would be pretty ideal but I recognize it cuts into the weekend, mine included...). Let’s put on our thinking caps and try to get something going this year so we can build on it next. Allan
