To be second is to be the first one to lose - Ayrton Senna
Hey there,
I am Anmol Singhal, presently a Strategy Analyst with Goldman Sachs in the Prime Services Business. I completed my four years of undergraduate education majoring in Computer Science at Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, India. I studied at the Pilani campus of BITS Pilani, which is a prestigious/top ranked private university in India.
Brought up in a home with an engineer father(currently with ISRO) and a mother with graduation in science, I believe in the power of exploration, spirit of enquiry and rationale. During my school days, I used to play football for the team as left back (same as Phillip Lahm and Dani Alves). In my leisure time now, I volunteer for a self help group of women in a village near Pilani which focuses on skill impartment. I also love to read fictions books by John Grisham and in general crime thrillers. I also read non fiction written by journalists and historians which shed a light on social and political makeup of society at the time.
In my years of study, I have become very passionate about the effect of advanced learning techniques in Computer Science on changing human behaviour. For a time, I was amazed at how Internet of Things (IoT) was changing the face of the world and devices around us. Going deeper into how the data collected was helping us predict not only human but also behaviour of the nature, I was intrigued by the possibilities it represented. Since then I have been dividing my time between learning more about Machine Learning, Neural Networks and Deep learning and my course work which tends to take up most of the time. I find the advances made in Human Computer Interaction aided by Computer Vision to be the testament of human capability.
I started coding in eight grade with JAVA and since then have picked up many languages and worked on various projects in my college time. Having gained experience in field of computing, I also help mentor 80+ students, as part of ACM student chapter at BITS Pilani, find their passion and true interest in the field and define a career from it.
My source of inspiration remains the above quote. With the ever changing world moving faster day by day, it is imperative to remain focused on where you want to be and to excel at it. Looking forward, I see myself unearthing my potential in a fast, challenging environment among the brightest minds in the world.
