I am a tenured researcher at the Institute for Informatics and Telematics (IIT) of the Italian National Research Council (CNR) in Pisa, Italy. I received the Ph.D. Degree in Information and Communication Engineering from University of Rome "La Sapienza" in 2008. I have held postdoc research fellow positions at University of Rome "La Sapienza" - Computer Science Department - SEnsor NetworkS and Embedded Systems Lab (SENSES) (2008-2014), and University of Rome "La Sapienza" - Department of Information Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunications (2014-2016), where I have also been a research contractor in the Signal Processing for Communications (SPCom) Lab in 2008. I have been involved in several European Projects including FP6 SURFACE and WINSOC, and FP7 SENDORA, FREEDOM, GENESI, CLAM, and SUNRISE.

My research interests include D2D data offloading protocols for 5G Networks and beyond, e-Health cloud-based architectures, channel modeling and protocol design for underwater acoustic sensor networks, protocols and algorithms for wireless sensor networks, data link/MAC and routing protocols for Cognitive Radio Networks, cooperative communications.
