About me

I'm a postdoctoral research associate in human population genetics
at UCL Genetics Institute in Garrett Hellenthal's lab. I apply novel statistical methodology based on haplotypes to characterize the genetic diversity and structure among different populations from Ethiopia and Sudan, and identify which are the features among shared ethnicity, culture or other anthropological factors that contribute to promote this diversity.

Other research interests

- Genetic diversity and structure in other world-wide modern and ancient human populations.
- Evolution and signatures of selection in genes involved in human skin pigmentation.
- The interplay between skin pigmentation and susceptibility to melanoma.
