Over 80 years has passed since the first Loonanon immigrants arrived here in the United States to begin their way to a better life.  These were eager settlers, who had dreams of opportunity and prosperity.  As they labored and toiled in their new land, which, at that time was full of restrictive laws and prejudice ways of thinking towards Filipinos, they never faltered in believing in themselves.  They were proud to be Filipinos, proud that they came from an island called Bohol and full of pride of their home town of Loon. 

In the decades that have passed since these pioneers arrived, they became immersed in their new lifestyle.  In many ways it was accompanied by very hard laborious work, particularly in the area of farm labor.  Nevertheless, they found time to initiate a social institution which has survived and grown until today.   Continue to  History...
