Building Teacher Websites

In this highly interactive 15 hour course participants will explore, design, create, and/or expand your own teacher Website using the latest Web 2.0 tools.  Participants will be exposed to successful teacher Websites that include the latest Web 2.0 services and applications, such as video tutorials, quiz makers, online grades, document hosting, and much more.  Participants will be instructed how to incorporate this technology into their own classroom Websites. 

Netcasting/Podcasting

In this highly interactive 15 hour course participants will explore the wide possibilities available when you learn to netcast/podcast.  You will be creating multi-media presentations and student-centered projects that will engage students in course content and 21st century tools and skills.  Enhancing students visual literacy skills will markedly improve their conventional literacy skills, increasing their chances for success on state exams and beyond.   Participants will learn to create an enhanced netcast/podcast to be used in your classroom and upload it to the Web.  We will also discuss copyright, fair use, and public domain.  You will be introduced to the online subscription databases.   

Topics in Technology 
In this highly interactive 15 hour course participants will further their knowledge of Web 2.0 tools to be used in the classroom.  We will focus on blogs, wikis, and netcasts/podcasts.  We will also explore emerging technologies, such as Google's Wave.  This class is for advanced participants.  
Web 2.0 Tools (Blogs & Wikis)
In this highly interactive 15 hour course participants will explore the latest Web 2.0 services and give your students the tools to become information literate.   This class will focus on blogs and wikis. As always, we will cover copyright laws regarding the use of media in the classroom and on the Web.
Writing Applications with Web 2.0 Technologies 
In this highly interactive 15 hour course participants will explore the latest Web 2.0 services, such as blogs and wikis to offer students expanded opportunities to interact with and succeed at the writing process.   This class will expose teachers to strategies and opportunities to use free Web 2.0 tools to improve content area specific writing ability.  Participants will leave this workshop with ready to use projects that have already produced improved writing scores and increased student activity and interest.
