Tour of Danish Bread Wheat System

Bread wheat farmers, millers, and researchers from Maine & Vermont travelled to Denmark Oct 24-30 to visit with their Danish counterparts.  We learned about production issues, milling techniques, marketing strategies, and heritage varieties; and we brought back new ideas, confirmation of our efforts at home, a renewed focus on quality and marketing, and a new appreciation of hearty rye breads.
The trip was organized by Ellen Mallory (Univ. Maine Cooperative Extension), Anders Borgen (Agrologica) and other Danish colleagues.
