Denmark Trip

Organic bread wheat farmers, millers and researchers from Maine and Vermont travelled to Denmark Oct 25-30 to visit with our Danish counterparts.
We learned about production issues, milling techniques, marketing strategies, and heritage varieties; and we brought back new ideas, validation of our efforts at home, a renewed focus on quality and marketing, and a new appreciation of hearty rye breads.
The trip was organized by Ellen Mallory (Univ. Maine Cooperative Extension) in collaboration with Anders Borgen (Agrologica) and other Danish colleagues who Ellen met during a sabbatical year in Denmark.
