We went for a visit today on our way home. Since this was our fisrt trip since he was born, Asa Jack met more of the family. He also kept Nate and his great-grandfather company while they watched the football game. Kaden looked for lizards with Uncle Ernie and then I took him to the playground to run around. And here are Asa Jack & Safari ~
For Thanksgiving, we headed over to Orlando and spent the a few days there. Kaden had fun playing with his grandparents and aunt Becky, uncle Dave and Kili! We ate some good food while both Asa Jack and Kili slept, at least for a little while.
Eat quick, while the babies sleep!
Asa Jack was baptized today. For those of you wondering, the name Asa means "healer" in Hebrew. The story of Asa can be found in I Kings 15:9-24 Here is an excerpt below, but click the link for the full version.
(9) In the twentieth year of Jeroboam king of Israel, Asa began to reign over Judah, (10)and he reigned forty-one years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Maacah the daughter of Abishalom. (11a)And Asa did what was right in the eyes of the LORD, as David his father had done...(14b) Nevertheless, the heart of Asa was wholly true to the LORD all his days.
We traveled over to Polk City today, Kaden had a lot of fun playing with his grandparents and great-grandparents as well as seeing his aunt and cousin. Kaden played with his "hammer bench" (tool bench) with his great-grandfather and went to the playground with his Granny and his grandfather. And of course Kaden played the keyboard for us as well. Asa Jack can't quite hold a hammer and he'd fall off the slide, but he had a wonderful time meeting his great-grandparents for the first time. Here's a selection of pictures...
All warm on one of our recent cold nights....
Here are two links to a funny video of Kaden singing the Raffi song, Down by the Bay. He starts laughing befor he gets to the end!
(It's a good thing Nate was there, I tried to bring Kaden and the baby by myself one day, it was pretty tough to help Kaden climb while carrying Asa Jack!)
So Asa Jack has smiled a few times, but today was definitely his first deliberate smile at mommy, his whole face lights up when he grins. And even daddy saw him smile so it wasn't just imagined! Of course he's not smiling in this picture, but he's still a cute baby!
We have a collection of board games and Kaden wants to play all the time. Unfortunately he doesn't understand the rules yet, so Kaden makes them up and there aren't really rules just his imagination deciding what the pieces are and where they should go. For instance today he made one game into a snowboarding game. He must have learned the word snowboard from his daddy's video game which he played with his grandmommy today...
not really any words to describe these
We made a trip to the playground, Kaden had fun rolling his toys down the slide. Later that afternoon, he fell asleep, surrounded by his toys. First though he played and I heard him talking on his toy phone ("Hi ---, How are you doing? Doing good?"), I waited a few minutes then went to check on him and this is what I found...
Asa Jack is one month old today, hard to believe! He had his one month doctor's appointment yesterday and now weighs over 9lbs, I thought he was feeling heavier!
Here's what else we did today...We went to a fun birthday party at the park in the morning. Kaden had a great time playing and they had ponies to ride which he really enjoyed! Then in the afternoon we went to the downtown art festival and had a nice time walking around and enjoying the weather. Asa Jack slept through it and even Kaden fell asleep in the car on the way home!
Kaden's face says it all! He's so happy to try to hold his little brother. But I like this picture with Asa looking at Daddy... "what are you guys doing?"
He's starting to have more time awake although I think most of it is still in the middle of the night!
A box came in the mail today! Kaden had a great time opening it up and discovering all the goodies sent by his grandparents. He liked the pajamas so much that he tried to put the ones with the trucks on over his shorts! And he was very excited to find a game!
We have found a messy new way to get outside and have fun. Here's some pictures of Kaden fingerpainting, he had a great time and made some nice pictures. Then afterwards I turned the hose on and let him play in it!
And of course, while Kaden painted, Asa Jack stretched and slept!
