Film Sypnosis
Directed by Rebecca Miller and adapted from Miller’s short story collection, Personal Velocity explores the lives of three different women: Delia, Greta, and Paula.
The first faced a very traumatic childhood, as her mother abandoned the family and his father was a drug addict. As Delia grows up, she discovers she can use her body to manipulate men.
On the other side, Greta, whose father, a successful lawyer, walked out on his family, devotes her literary talents editing cookbooks, until she has to edit her husband’s novel. Last but not least, Paula leaves her broken family and lives homeless until she meets her boyfriend Vincent. After a year, she has to deal with two main events that make her take a tough decision: leaving again.
Personal Velocity is a movie that lets us see two reflections of society; the past that some people see as mythical and today’s world that seems a little bit upside down.
