Landsurveying school (LS), Zagreb, Croatia, is a public vocational education and training (VET) school with approximately 400 students and 40 staff members. It is the only landsurveying school in Croatia. Upon finishing the school, the students receive the degree (occupation) called landsurveying technician. LS is committed to international cooperation in education and has a keen interest in practical aspects of TEL. It is a member of the Croatian academic and research network – CARNet from 1996. LS works actively on
developing student-teacher relationship as one of the school's high values – students
fully participate in most school activities, ranging from international
cooperation, student presentations of their achievements in European study
visits of their school (as part of the e-VET Ready project), and
involving students in vocational activities in which they develop not only
vocational competences, but also soft skills (self-confidence,
presentational and communication skills, sense of ownership and accomplishment
etc.). In the GRASS project, LS participates as e-learning field partner, by piloting the tools developed by other partners in the project. It is committed to examining pedagogical implications of technology-based assessment of its students' soft skills, while respecting the students' privacy and wellbeing.
