La Leche League of San Luis Obispo

La Leche League of San Luis Obispo is a chapter of La Leche League International. LLLI is dedicated to helping people worldwide to breastfeed through parent-to-parent support, encouragement, information, and education, and to promote a better understanding of breastfeeding as an important element in the healthy development of the baby and mother.

Our monthly meetings are on hiatus until Spring of 2020. The local group offers monthly meetings where peers can gather, find answers to breastfeeding questions and concerns, participate in an informational meeting on a breastfeeding topic, and meet others from the area. Recent studies show you are more likely to attain your unique breastfeeding goal if you join a circle of warm peer support.

Meeting topics include:
The Art of Breastfeeding
A New Baby at Home
Overcoming Difficulties
Nutrition and Weaning

Individual questions or concerns outside of the scope of the meeting's topic, but within the scope of nurturing children at the breast or through breastmilk are always welcome. You can also use's Breastfeeding Answers to find trusted answers to common issues.

Local La Leche League Leaders volunteer to answer phone calls, Facebook and text messages, and emails from families with breastfeeding questions or concerns. Please contact a local leader to get the help you need to find success in breastfeeding.
