Llantrisant Gymnastics Club

Llantrisant Gymnastics Club was formed in November 1999 by Sian Kirby.  Along with Sue Stanford and the backing of Llantrisant Leisure Centre, a gymnastics squad was formed from trials available to children attending recreational classes at the leisure centre and other children from the local area. It was from this class that the first squad of girls was chosen.

Training began and the clubs target was to enter the Welsh Preliminary Championships and the East Wales/Welsh Novice competitions the following year.

The Under 11 girls team did exceptionally well in their first competition gaining a team silver medal!

Since then the club has gone from strength to strength. Gymnasts have progressed to compete in further competitions and grades.  Some of the gymnasts have even gained places in the East Wales Squad.

The gymnasts train hard 5 days a week and their dedication and commitment has warranted their success.

Ten coaches at the club form a major role in the progress and continuation of the club along with the support of the gymnasts parents and family.  Financial backing from sponsors and through fund-raising is gratefully received.

 Here's to a successful future!
