I have received my first degree as a Computer Engineer (with Honors) from University of Craiova, Romania. Thanks to IKY- the Greek State Scholarships Foundation, I have completed my M.Sc. thesis at The Medical Physics & Biomedical Engineering Department of the University of Patras- Greece, with a project involving Hierarchical Mixture of Experts (Artificial Neural Networks, aka ANN).
Immediately after that, I worked toward the completion of my PhD thesis.
 The content of the Thesis was published by VDM-Verlag GmbH Publishing House. The title of "Doctor in Science" was awarded by University of Athens and University Patras, with its Inter-University Course on Biomedical Engineering. After completion of my PhD, I went to USA at the Medical University of South Carolina, Department of Neuroscience. After that, at the end of 2005 I have joined the School of Computing in Dublin City University, Ireland, working (with the financial support offered by Science Foundation of Ireland) at an interesting project of Sign-Language Recognition.

Current Research Interests include:
  • Signal and Image Digital Processing & Analysis;
  • Computational Intelligence (Artificial Neural Networks, Fuzzy-Logic, Genetic Algorithms, Evolutionary Computation);
  • Computers networking and communications technology;
  • Operating Systems (LINUX/Unix);
  • Biomedical Engineering.
